While there are many people who prefer hot coffee and other hot beverages, iced coffee is just as popular, especially in the summer months. If you have a Keurig in the office or at home but want to make iced creations, there are ways to do so using Keurig coffee supplies. On top of hot beverages, Keurig can make everything from regular iced coffee to iced lattes and even coffee ice cubes. It might not be ready in sixty seconds like a hot coffee is, but there are ways to make it work. Making iced coffee and delicious versions of your favorite iced coffee drinks has never been easier with Keurig.

Can Keurig make iced coffee?

Most Keurig machines cannot physically brew cold drinks because the water needs to be heated before the brewing process. However, there are ways for you to make them cold while still getting lots of use out of your Keurig machine. Keurig coffee makers are convenient because of how quickly they brew your favorite beverage. They are also easy to use and offer a wide variety of flavors to make your iced coffee different each day. To make iced creations using your Keurig, all you need is a little time, some creativity, and an open mind.

Does Keurig offer machines that can make iced coffee?

Keurig has machines that can make the coffee you love iced. There are different settings on these particular machines that give you the option to brew iced drinks as well as cold brew. Keurig also offers specific pods to be brewed at these settings that make it so that the coffee is stronger compared to brewing hot. When you make an iced coffee with Keurig, the machine will brew at a higher temperature. The increase in temperature prevents dilution so that when the coffee hits the ice it stays strong.

To further prevent your iced coffee from getting too watered down, make coffee ice cubes! Simply brew your favorite coffee using your Keurig, add it to some ice molds and pop them in the freezer. The next time you make an iced coffee with the Keurig, use the coffee ice cubes to prevent dilution and to keep the taste of the coffee flavorful.

Can all Keurig’s make iced coffee?

The majority of Keurig machines don’t have the option to make iced drinks, but there are ways around it. There are only a few machines on the market that have the iced setting, including the K-Elite. The K-Elite has a button where you can choose to brew your coffee over ice. To do this, put your ice in the glass, put the pod in like normal, press the “iced” button and brew your drink. Add flavorings, milk, sugar, or whatever you enjoy in your iced coffee and viola: Keurig iced coffee.

How to Make an Iced Latte with a Keurig

For those who aren’t sure, a latte, hot or cold, consists mostly of your favorite milk or non-dairy alternative, either a shot or two of espresso, and any extra flavorings such as vanilla, caramel or hazelnut. While Keurig doesn’t offer espresso pods, there are a few different ways you can make an iced latte or just regular iced coffee using your Keurig.

Method 1: Milk Pods for Iced Coffee

To make a latte or your favorite iced coffee drink, Keurig makes K-cups that are milk-based. Milk pods give your coffee drink more of a milk-based taste, mimicking a latte without using all the milk. There are tons of flavors to choose from to make your favorite iced drink using your Keurig, so follow these instructions on how to make it:

  1. First, place your milk-based pod into the pod holder and fill the water reservoir with as much water as you are going to need.
  2. Brew it like normal and allow it to cool in the fridge either overnight or until you need to drink it. Adding ice cubes might water the drink down, especially right away, so hold off on that until the drink isn’t steaming hot anymore. Making coffee ice cubes is a great way to avoid your iced coffee getting watered down and keeps it strong throughout the day.
  3. Once your drink is cool to your liking, add your favorite milk or creamers and enjoy your iced coffee!

If you are doing this at home, it might be a good idea to make this the night before or give yourself ample time for the coffee to cool in order to add the ice. If you are in the office, making your coffee first thing and allowing it to cool would also be ideal. Perhaps, making it before you leave work the previous day would work better, so it can be nice and cold for when you arrive the next day and want to drink your delicious coffee.

Method 2: Latte Creation

Lattes are a combination of espresso and milk and require different amounts of ingredients compared to a regular iced coffee. Follow this method to make an iced latte with your Keurig:

  1. Place your desired K-cup into the holder and add the smallest amount of water your Keurig can take. Usually, the smallest size is four ounces, but be sure to check the side of your water reservoir for the actual amount.
  2. Add the water and brew the coffee like normal. Since the amount of coffee will be small, it will be a lot stronger compared to brewing a whole eight or ten ounces.
  3. Add your desired milk or non-dairy milk to the “espresso” and any flavorings you would like. Be sure to add enough milk for the glass or mug to be full, and for the drink to be the color you like in a latte.
  4. Add ice and enjoy your Keurig latte!

Method 3: Using the Iced Setting

If you have the iced coffee button on your Keurig, brewing an iced coffee is just as easy as brewing hot coffee. To brew the iced coffee, press the “iced” or “iced coffee” button and brew like normal. If you are wondering, ‘what does the “iced” button does on a Keurig?’ it actually allows the coffee to brew at a higher temperature, so the coffee isn’t diluted when it’s brewed over ice.

Can you make iced coffee with Keurig?

At the end of the day, you can in fact make iced coffee and other iced drinks with the Keurig. You don’t necessarily need to have the K-Elite machine with the “iced” button in order to do so, because there are other methods to make your favorite iced drinks either at home or in the office. So, the next time you want an iced coffee or latte but don’t want to leave work or home and drive to a coffee shop, use the Keurig to save some money. If you have all of the ingredients, you can do it at home. While you’re at it, be sure to make some coffee ice cubes as well so you can continue making your favorite iced coffee at home.
